It’s All About Poets And Poetry

crossection of poets at LOPR season 2 episode 7

Loudthotz Open Poetry Readings (LOPR) is an avenue for published and unpublished poets – closet poets, hobbyist poets, career poets, poetry performers, and peaceful activists – to express themselves through poetry, and perhaps make a difference in their generation with the same tool that created the universe.

Readings are held once-a-month on every second Thursday of the month at #3B Adesoye Street, Mende Maryland Lagos, Nigeria, between 6:00 - 9:00pm.

Poets who wish to participate usually email in their works to poems@loudthotz.com or loudthotz@gmail.com before 12:00pm on the day of the reading. At the Open Reading poets are called up one after the other to recite their poems, which is projected on a wide screen for everyone to read along clearly. Poets are then called up randomly to critique the piece, and finally the author takes the flooor and explains the inspiration and creative process behind their work.

You can read a review of the past episodes on our blog, and watch some poetry-in-motion on our youtube channel. Enjoy!
